BBC Academy – a big thanks

Running 10 journalism training sessions for young creatives we got exclusive interviews with Rita Ora, Paloma Faith and Trevor Nelson. We co-delivered sessions with The Independent, The Daily Star, Grime Daily & Hackney Gazette that led to the brightest and the best getting published.

Big thanks – “I just wanted to say thank you all for the hard work that you put in to making the Academy such a success. Find below some of the best bits and pieces published about the Academy, and attached a page with some positive comments and images. It was an absolute pleasure to work with you – please also pass this on to your amazing team. Enjoy reading, watching and listening! ” Marie, BBC Learning

Out of our sessions came the official academy blog, conceived and designed from nose to tail by the young people we worked with and on top of that we got 12 young journalists into the Big weekend. We paid 6 peer mentors and worked with local illustrator Bish, Photographer Agenda and Art Against Knives.

We even helped out with the BBC’s social networking making this viral
