Marketing 101

Sometimes we all need to be reminded of the basics, because knowing and doing can be two different things!

5 easy steps to improve your marketing
When it comes to marketing we all know what we ought to be doing but regularly don’t feel we have time. The below are quick, easy, free ways to build your marketing presence

1. A picture tells a thousand words
Got an event, training or meeting? Take decent photos for your facebook / twitter, website or newsletters. Everyone knows someone with a decent camera ( or iphone! )
2. Tell your story
The people you work with and their stories are often the most interesting aspect of our sector. Case studies can be 1 question interviews ! “How has our services made a difference? “ but they go a long way to bringing your story to life
3. Friends are your most powerful tool
Develop relationship with 3 similar organizations on facebook and twitter so you’ve got supporters who’ll help you promote and make sure you reciprocate. Talk to them directly and ASK FOR RT’s!
4. Revisit
All your partnerships, clients and ex clients, they might of changed, gone on to greater things or just offer you useful feedback. Are you linked to them?
5. Link
Ask everyone you meet if they’re on facebook or twitter and link them during or after you meet them! ASK FOR RT’s!

Remember to celebrate and shout about all the great work you do as often as you can. People love good news and EVERYTHING is content, useful to explain how brilliant you are.
