In March 2010 we’d been contemplating why only 48% of under 24’s were registered to vote on the run up to the general elections. Lem Leon was itching to find out so we teamed up with Choice FM to ask a youth audience for their questions before marching down to Whitehall to interview politicians from each of the major parties.
Problem was… the content was boring and we had so little time left before the election to explore the issue of youth engagement that we felt frustrated. The answer came in the from of The British Council’s Youth in Action fund which we pitched for an won working with Lem, Kayla and twins Nathaniel and Ishmael
Now in month 2 Evolution NOW is taking shape. We’re consulting with young people in the South East to identify one issue we can campaign on, learning the political ropes as we go. We’ll then be putting together an interactive workshop to take out to year 10’s ( the seedlings – eligible to vote in the NEXT general election ) and recording our progress to share.
